Context
In 2025, as we embark on the 21st year in Uttoron’ s journey, we are inheriting a streamlined operational platform – thanks to all past Executive Committees and our dear members! It is now on us to evolve Uttoron and take it forward for continued success in its 3rd decade. A few key considerations here are:
Key Considerations:

Seattle area (and PNW in general) has grown from 1 Indian Bengali association until 2015, to over 7 in 2024. This is great news for Bengalis at large in the greater Seattle area, since it offers multiple options to the diaspora and fosters a thriving sense of community.

Uttoron’ s membership base has a broad spread across demographic (young adults, adults and seniors) and interest groups – this is our core strength, but it also brings its own challenges in how we can continue to maintain Uttoron’ s appeal as a social engagement platform across this spread-out demographic and varied interest groups.

Due to our traditional “Event” oriented approach, there is some ground to cover on being intentional/explicit about cross demographic engagement across our initiaives.
With these key considerations in context, here is our Vision and Goals for 2025.

Expand and enhance Uttoron’ s appeal and value proposition making it THE choicest platform for Bengali community at large.
Uttoron Goals and Objectives 2025
Goal 1: Offer a diverse platter of initiative to existing community members across all demographics to remain engaged throughout the year
Objectives:

Build more tailored experiences for various demographics and interest groups in Uttoron.

Be intentional with each initiative on how we are catering to Kids / Adults / Seniors / Diverse Interest groups

Organically expand volunteer participation integral to day-to-day EC operations – if members have a say, they will engage more.
Goal 2: Energize and evangelize our offering enhancing the appeals for new members and sponsors
Objectives:

Create avenues and remove barrier to social entry within Uttoron for new members to feel at home in a short period of time.

Enhance our media presence and offerings to make Uttoron an attractive platform both for new members and sponsors.

Engage with community leaders and establish a template for recurring sponsorship
Goal 3: Establish set processes and pipeline for creating leaders to take Uttoron forward in its 3rd decade
Objectives:

Define clear objectives and accountability for each EC member with well defined role and responsibility assignment.

Create opportunities for newer EC members to take E2E ownership of various Uttoron initiatives to build both breadth and depth in driving Uttoron initiatives with confidence.
